The Loss of the Father (Preview)
The white marble of Osiris’s palace gleamed in the sunlight, the many gardens and pools filled with all manner of flora and fauna, a testament to the prestige of the pharaoh. In the unspoken opinion of the gods and the mortals who remembered through tales however, it paled in comparison unto the majesty of Ra’s corporeal dwelling. Still, the royal house shone beautifully upon the banks of the Nile which Osiris loved. The mortal guards stood proudly at their posts and the nearby city bustled with activity.
Suddenly, darkness falls over the civilization as a massive sandstorm rises from the great desert so high into the atmosphere

Due to the prophecy that foretold a child of Geb and Nut overthrowing Ra and wrecking the balance of Ma’at, the High King forbade Nut from giving birth on any of the three hundred and sixty days of the year. The other members of the pantheon thought it unfair for the sky goddess to remain in permanent pregnancy, and Thoth decided to aid her against his Pharaoh’s wishes. The old ibis knew well that the future was not set in stone. Besides, if anything or anyone dared to overthrow the beloved sun god they would have an entire pantheon of wrathful, primal beings to answer to. Therefore Thoth, using the gambling game of Senet, wo

The Loss of the Father Preview III
*Scene takes place right after Ra abdicates the throne to Osiris and announces that he has to leave*
The assembled gods stared at their beloved pharaoh in stunned silence. Ra met their gazes with a sad, rather defeated one of his own. Little Bastet released Hathor’s hand and ran to her father, crying as she wrapped her arms around his leg. “Da-da! Da-da don’t go!”
Ra knelt beside his youngest child, his velvety voice filled with anguish. “I have no choice, dear one.” His powerful frame trembled as he held her close.
Sutekh snarled and gripped the sides of his head as though he was going to pull his hair
Tawa stood there and looked down on what was left of Earth. So far the only gods and goddesses that were left were the Earth deities. The sea deities had vanished by ascending or in other ways, as well as the gods and goddesses of nature. The sky/air gods and goddesses were barely hanging on since the atmosphere of Earth is evaporating. Tawa and the rest of the sun gods knew that this day would happen. The sun is going into Red Giant stage, and they did not know what to do. The archangel Uriel came to him.
“We all knew this day would come.” Uriel told him. Tawa then replied to her. “I know, it’s just… he sighed
Next, the war came. The Upper and Lower Egypt were against each other, and the gods decided to intervene. In a matter of a few days, all the main deities left their occult palaces to gather at the palace in the frontier. That meant Thoth would have to interrupt his lessons with Nephtys, since his wisdom and strategy were necessary to the war efforts. But he was not discouraged, and devised a way to continue tutoring the young goddess from a distance. Thanks to her affinity with obscure magic, he managed to teach her the art of communicating through dreams. It was a difficult and very specific subject, but she shakily tore her way through it w
After meeting his great-grandchildren, Ra decreed he would not have them be raised away from him. All the bitterness at the prospect of new divine offspring that had led him to forbid Nut and Geb's romance in the first place was gone; nevertheless, his harshness was the same as he ordered his grandchildren to move back into his palace. Nut and Geb were less than willing to put up with his demands however, they eventually decided that Ra had the right to be in the children's lives.
Therefore, after ten years of isolation, Geb and Nut came back to the Court of the Gods, and back to their old luxurious lifestyle. The change was not that
The Great Sphinx
Hear my story
give me a bit of your time
and I will tell you of days long past
for I have been here for ages
times beyond the length of man's memory
I have been here longer than you know
I was here
when everything around me was green and lush
when rains fell heavily
and the waters ran down the sides of my abode
when the great cold ice sheets were almost melted away
and man carved me as the Lion that I am
but then through time the climate changed
many of the humans moved to different places
searching for their game to hunt
and I sat and watched as the green lushness became sand
the rains no longer fell upon me
the sun's
The Ankh
the symbol of life
a symbol of equality
a sign of a Matriarch system
the Ankh represents
the female at one end
and the male sign at the other
the cross bar between being the divider
the ancient peoples
of the rich Egyptian land
recognized the mother as the teacher
as the goddess of the family
where as the norm today
is the Patriarchal
where the father is the head
and the family his domain
but in the ancient time
often the way was different
even though the modern cultures
view the past through
their own rose colored eyes
disregarding the fact
that the ancients knew another way
yes the Ankh represents the equality
held upon its side

Layla
I carefully followed the foreign man and his four guides through the streets of Egypt once I was able to find him. Sneaking around really wasn't my best...especially with my beauty seeming to capture everyone's attention. Though I was able to manage following him without being seen long enough to see him enter the palace gates and watch him go into the palace.
Pharaoh Amenhotep wasn't exactly a kind pharaoh. He treated his citizens who weren't higher than upper class poorly. And when it came to taxes, he always tipped the scale with his finger to make people pay more of their crops and j

Chapter 5
Layla
My eyes widened as I watched the stranger wizard walk on the water towards where the boy was at. The girl had ran off. Which was a good thing. Now I had one less person to worry about now that the stranger was no longer threatening me, but now seeming to threaten them. I couldn't allow that to happen.
Think, Layla, think! I ordered myself as I looked around to find something, anything to get him to focus back on me. I saw a few rocks by the river bank and I rushed over to them. Picking up two of the rocks and turning back to face them. Throwing them at the wizard. One of them missed the
